Subject:	Eliminate waiting period for marriage license

In the near future, I will introduce legislation to eliminate the waiting period for a marriage license in Pennsylvania. Over twenty states, including Alabama, Connecticut, Colorado, Georgia, Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Utah, have no waiting period for a marriage license. Pennsylvania currently has a three-day waiting period. This time period made sense when the parties had to undergo a blood test for syphilis. That test is no longer required under Pennsylvania law. I hope you will join me in supporting this legislation.
