|Subject:||Resolution 17 - Rules Reform: Committees would have the same proportional representation as the House|
|Every session, the majority party in the House makes an arbitrary determination of the number of majority Members and minority Members that serve on a Committee. Last session it was 16-11 with 12 votes needed to pass. This session the majority is talking 15-10 with 11 to report a bill.
We need to change the House Rules to fix this. Under my plan, the Committees would have the same proportional representation as the House. This is a commonsense change and would better reflect the actual will of the people.
My resolution is one in a package of resolutions promoted by Fair Districts PA, a nonpartisan group dedicated to practices that represent the will of the people and not just a select few special interests. Please sign on and show your support.
