|Subject:||Tax Holiday for Energy Star and WaterSense Products (Former HB 1816)|
|The average family of four in the United States uses approximately 400 gallons of water every day. With temperatures rising, droughts are becoming more severe. As such, our focus on conserving water and reducing greenhouse gas emissions must increase. The WaterSense and Energy Star programs already provide an incentive for conservation, but there is still more the General Assembly can do.
In order to promote the purchase and use of WaterSense and Energy Star products, I will be introducing legislation to annually exclude those products from sales and use taxes from April 22 (Earth Day) to April 29.
Please join me in encouraging Pennsylvanians to use these products to conserve water and energy.
Introduced as HB698
