Subject: Lithuanian Independence Day in Pennsylvania – February 16, 2019
Please join me in celebrating February 16, 2019, as Lithuanian Independence Day in Pennsylvania.

Lithuanian Independence Day was first celebrated in Pennsylvania when Act 17 of 1989 designated this date as a day to recognize the outstanding contributions made by the Lithuanian people to the heritage of both our Commonwealth and our country. The contributions of Pennsylvanians of Lithuanian descent span from the arts to sports and everything in between.

Shenandoah, Schuylkill County in my legislative district has the highest concentration of persons of Lithuanian descent in our entire country. It recently received a designation from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission as Little Lithuania, USA.

I am honored to introduce this resolution and ask you to join me in co-sponsoring it.
