Subject: Increase annual compensation cap for local registrars
 
In the near future, I will be introducing legislation that would increase the annual compensation cap for local registrars.

Under the current law there is a $60,000 limitation on the compensation in any one calendar year. Once this cap is met, the local registrar must transfer all additional fees to the Department of Health which would deposit $3 to the Vital Statistics Improvement Fund and $3 to the General Fund. My proposal would increase this cap to $85,000.
