Subject: Property Tax Exemption for All Disabled Veterans

I plan to re-introduce legislation that will amend the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to extend a full property tax exemption to all disabled veterans.

Under current law, a disabled veteran in Pennsylvania may receive a full property tax exemption on his/her primary residence if the veteran is 100% disabled as a result of wartime service and prove to be in need of financial assistance.

This legislation will amend the Commonwealth’s Constitution by removing the injury due to war service provision and applying the property tax exemption to all veterans who are determined to be 100% disabled by the United States Veterans Administration for an injury or disease that is related to their service and if the PA State Veterans Commission determines that such persons are in need of the property tax exemption.

It is important to honor the hard work and sacrifice of all veterans and their families.

I hope you will join me in co-sponsoring this important piece of legislation.
