House of Representatives
Session of 2017 - 2018 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 15, 2019 01:10 PM
From: Representative David S. Hickernell
To: All House members
Subject: Free Fishing for Persons with a Severe Physical Disability (Former HB 1276 of 2017-18 Session)

I plan to reintroduce legislation to amend Title 30 (Fish and Boat Code) to exempt an individual with a severe physical disability from obtaining a fishing license.

Currently, persons who are totally blind are exempt from purchasing a fishing license and this legislation extends that courtesy to persons with a severe physical disability. I have drafted the language to ensure that only persons who are paraplegic or similarly disabled in the lower extremities will qualify for this exemption.

Previous Cosponsors: HICKERNELL, BAKER, BOBACK, R. BROWN, V. BROWN, CAUSER, DeLUCA, FEE, GOODMAN, GREINER, JAMES, KINSEY, MENTZER, MILLARD, MURT, PICKETT, QUIGLEY, SAYLOR, SCHWEYER, ZIMMERMAN, READSHAW, MOUL and GILLEN

Introduced as HB982
