Subject: Streamlining Name Change Process
 
In the near future, we plan to introduce legislation that reforms the way people change their name when married.

It reforms an archaic process that requires newly-married couples to jump through unnecessary and cumbersome hoops to change their names. Rather than sending people through the courts as is currently stipulated, this bill will make it a more efficient process through local prothonotary offices.

The bill also streamlines the name-change process by updating publication requirements to post online and sets up a database to search name changes (with some exceptions).
