MEMORANDUM

Posted: September 18, 2018 03:24 PM
From: Representative Stephen Kinsey and Rep. Harry Lewis, Jr.
To: All House members
Subject: Kappa Alpha Psi Day in Pennsylvania

Founded on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, Kappa Alpha Psi promotes the ideals of dedication, leadership, maturity and wisdom among its membership.

The fraternity’s more than 125,000 undergraduate, graduate, and international members support its motto: “Achievement in Every Field of Human Behavior” by operating a multitude of programs ranging from youth mentoring and college preparation to senior support services. In keeping with the spirit of this motto, Kappa Alpha Psi has worked consistently to advance the ideas of its ten founding members with noted achievements in the fields of science, arts, education, sports, entertainment, and politics.

Philadelphia is proud to serve as the international headquarters of Kappa Alpha Psi, a beacon of inspiration to many in the academic community and beyond. In honor of our fellow fraternity brothers, past and present, and their continued contributions to communities across the country, we will be introducing a resolution designating October 16, 2018, as “Kappa Alpha Psi Day” in Pennsylvania.

Please join us in upholding the ideals and significant impact of this organization, of which we are proud to serve as members, by co-sponsoring this measure.
