Subject: Resolution - Designating October 2018 as "Fire Prevention Month" and Observing October 7-13, 2018 as "National Fire Prevention Week" in Pennsylvania
 
I will be introducing a resolution designating October 2018 as "Fire Prevention Month" and observing the week of October 7 through 13, 2018, as "National Fire Prevention Week" in Pennsylvania.

The theme of National Fire Prevention Week 2018 is “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere.” The purpose of this year’s theme is to educate people about basic but essential ways to quickly and safely escape from a home fire. Not only does Fire Prevention Week provide the opportunity to raise awareness about fire safety and prevention in peoples’ homes and communities, it also recognizes the unrelenting efforts of all first responders, firefighters, and fire service agencies as they protect and aid our citizens.
