|Subject:||Legislation to amend the Public Official and Employee Ethics Act|
|In the near future I intend to introduce legislation that was considered by and reported from the House State Government Committee in the 2013-14 session. This important measure will amend our Public Official and Employee Ethics Act to prohibit public officials and employees from accepting cash gifts and will reduce both the Act’s threshold for reporting gifts and the Act’s threshold for reporting transportation, lodging or hospitality.
As elected officials and public servants at all levels, we owe the residents of Pennsylvania increased transparency and greater accountability. We must continue to make changes in the way state government does business in order to give Pennsylvanians confidence in government. With that in mind I am asking that you consider cosponsoring this legislation.
Introduced as HB2519
