| Subject: | Resolution - Proclaiming November 23, 2018, as "State Partnership Program with Lithuania Day" in Pennsylvania |
| In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution that proclaims November 23, 2018, as “State Partnership Program with Lithuania Day” in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Lithuania's productive partnership with the Pennsylvania National Guard. The program has brought thousands of Pennsylvania National Guard personnel together with their Lithuanian counterparts to strengthen a wide range of Lithuanian capabilities, including planning, crisis management, and civilian-military disaster response. Pennsylvania National Guard troops have also partnered with Lithuanian troops to advance our joint efforts in Afghanistan. This resolution recognizes the Pennsylvania National Guard’s State Partnership Program with the Republic of Lithuania as they celebrate a quarter century as global allies and bringing together military personnel for training, education, and outreach activities. It also underscores the close ties between the United States and the Baltic states, which are grounded in our shared values, ideals, and interests. With that said, I am proud to offer this resolution and invite I you to join me by co-sponsoring this measure. |
