House Co-Sponsorship Memoranda

In the near future, I plan to introduce a Resolution designating March 22, 2018 as “World Water Day” in Pennsylvania in conjunction with the 2018 “World Water Day” international observance designated by the United Nations.

As you may know, the first World Water Day observance stemmed from the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development. In developing countries, 1.3 billion people are gaining access to safe drinking water through initiatives of the United Nations and other global entities. In addition, public and private entities across all continents must pursue unified water conservation work and continuing investment in infrastructure to make further progress.

With that said, the 2018 World Water Day observance will focus on the Nature for Water -- exploring nature based solutions to the water challenges we face in the 21st century.
