MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 27, 2018 12:15 PM
From: Representative Maria P. Donatucci
To: All House members
Subject: Resolution - Recognizing March 14, 2018, as “Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day” and March 2018 as National Nutrition Month in Pennsylvania

In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution recognizing March 14, 2018, as “Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day” in Pennsylvania.

Registered dietitian nutritionists are food and nutrition experts who can translate the science of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living. They have degrees in nutrition, dietetics, public health or a related field. Additionally, in order to earn the registered dietitian nutritionist credential, one must have completed an accredited supervised practice program, passed a national examination and completed continuing professional education requirements.

Registered dietitian nutritionists form an important part of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, with the academy recognizing March 2018 as “National Nutrition Month” and March 14, 2018, as “National Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day.”

This resolution recognizes the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, their 3,700 members, and any other registered dietitian nutritionists in Pennsylvania for their daily work to promote good nutrition, good eating and quality living for individuals in this Commonwealth.

I hope you will join me in co-sponsoring and supporting this resolution.
