Subject: | Resolution Commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Pennsylvania Dental Association |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Pennsylvania Dental Association. Initially formed by a convention of dentists in July 1868, the stated purpose of the Association is to “serve the public, improve their health, promote the art and science of dentistry and represent the interests of its members and the people they serve.” It is the Association’s mission to promote dental care for the public, improve availability of dental care, speak authoritatively and responsibly on behalf of the public to governmental bodies, educate the public about the prevention of oral disease and promote good oral health. We should also recognize the Association provides millions in donated care through programs that improve access to dental care in Pennsylvania, including MOM-n-PA, Donated Dental Services, Give Kids a Smile, and National Children’s Dental Health Month. Please join me in recognition of the Association’s many contributions to Pennsylvania and in marking its milestone anniversary. |
