In the near future I intend to introduce legislation concerning Civil Service Reform. Specifically, my legislation will parallel legislation enacted in 2017 and signed by the Governor in the Education Code allowing for the discharge of consistent substandard performers currently working in government. Additionally, my legislation calls for the creation of a citizen complaint hotline and complaint remediation process. This Citizen Protection Hotline is designed to allow all citizens to have access to our government and to remediate complaints. While the absolute vast majority of civil servants are dedicated, compassionate and honorable in the performance of their duties, our citizens have a right to expect the absolute best from all civil servants. My bill is designed to protect our great government employees from those who tarnish their reputation and harm our citizens. Please join with me in co-sponsoring this important piece of legislation. |
