Subject: | Resolution recognizing April 4, 2018 as National Walking Day |
In the near future, I am planning to introduce a resolution that will recognize April 4, 2018, as “National Walking Day” in Pennsylvania, which is sponsored by the American Heart Association. This purpose behind the American Heart Association’s “National Walking Day!” is to establish the connection between walking and good heart health. This event is intended to encourage Americans to become more physically active and to urge all citizens to show their support for walking and the fight against heart disease, and to commemorate this day, by taking the time to walk. By increasing awareness of the importance of physical activity to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, we can save thousands of lives each year. Please consider joining me and help raise awareness of the importance of regular physical activity in the lives of citizens across this Commonwealth. |
