MEMORANDUM

Posted: October 25, 2017 11:31 AM
From: Representative Adam Harris
To: All House members
Subject: Amend the Liquor Code - Allowing State Store employees to confiscate an invalid identification card

In the near future I plan to introduce legislation to amend the Liquor Code.

This legislation will permit establishments and state store employees the ability to confiscate an invalid identification card that has been presented to them. An identification card may only be confiscated if a transaction scan device has been used to verify the authenticity of the identification card. A confiscated card must be turned over to the local authorities within 24 hours.

Permitting the immediate confiscation of these illegal and invalid identification cards removes them from the hands of underage drinkers and further helps to discourage the use of fake identification cards in the future.

I hope you will join me in co-sponsoring this legislation.
