|Subject:||Optional Cultural Awareness Professional Development For Educators|
|In the near future, we will be introducing legislation to offer teachers across Pennsylvania optional and free professional development courses in cultural awareness.
The Department of Education will be instructed to disseminate guidelines to school entities in the state that enable teachers to design a curriculum that connects kids to various cultures through food, art, books, movies, dance, travel and other cross-cultural experiences. It will encourage kids from different parts of the state to learn and appreciate each region and country’s culture. Teachers will be given free training on cultural awareness that allows them to effectively tailor and deliver their unique curriculum to meet the guidelines of this legislation.
We hope you will join us in providing new and innovative professional development which is actually useful in the classroom.
Introduced as HB1978
