|In the near future, we plan to introduce a resolution designating October 17, 2017, as “Kappa Alpha Psi Day” in Pennsylvania.
As many of you know, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity was founded on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, on January 5, 1911. Originally chartered and incorporated as Kappa Alpha Nu, the fraternity changed its name to Kappa Alpha Psi in 1915.
Kappa Alpha Psi promotes the ideals of dedication, leadership, maturity and wisdom among its membership who together support the fraternity’s motto that purports: “Achievement in Every Field of Human Behavior.” In keeping with the spirit of this motto, Kappa Alpha Psi has worked consistently to advance the ideas of its ten founding members with noted achievements in the fields of science, arts, education, sports, entertainment and politics.
Headquartered in the great City of Philadelphia, and with over 600 graduate and undergraduate chapters nationwide, Kappa Alpha Psi operates a multitude of programs ranging from youth mentoring and college preparation to senior support services. Kappa Alpha Psi is a beacon of inspiration to many in the academic community and the fraternity’s foundation continues to serve communities across the country.
As members of Kappa Alpha Psi, we are proud to offer this resolution and personally welcome each of you to join in co-sponsoring this measure.
