Subject: | Condolence Resolution Honoring Jack F. Kemp |
**Please disregard if you have previously added yourself as a co-sponsor. Next week I will be introducing a condolence resolution recognizing the accomplishments and life of Jack F. Kemp. Jack was an American politician, served in the United States Army Reserve and was a professional gridiron football player. As a Republican, he served as Housing Secretary under the Administration of President George H. W. Bush and served nine terms as a Congressman in western New York. Mr. Kemp advocated low tax rates and supply-side policies during his career and was the architect of the Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981 under the Reagan Administration. He was also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009 by President Barack Obama. After his political career, he served on the board of corporate and nonprofit organizations and authored and co-authored several books. Please join me in honoring the life and accomplishment of Jack F. Kemp by co-sponsoring this condolence resolution. |
