| Subject: | Emergency Medical Services Week |
| I will be introducing a House Resolution designating the week of May 21 through 27, 2017, as “Emergency Medical Services Week”. This year’s EMS Week theme is “EMS Strong: Always in Service.” Each year during EMS Week, crews hold activities honoring emergency medical technicians, paramedics, first responders, firefighters and police along with providing vital educational material and training to adults and children on a variety of topics, including injury prevention, safety awareness and medical emergencies. Please join me in honoring the more than 40,000 emergency medical technicians, paramedics and the more than 4,000 first responders who take time away from their families to engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to deliver 24-hour, seven-days-a-week lifesaving care to persons in need. We have a very short turn around time frame on this so we will be introducing it on Friday, May 19th.
