Subject: | Condolence Resolution Honoring the Life of Former House Member Alvin C. Bush (84th District – Lycoming County) |
In the very near future, I plan to introduce a condolence resolution honoring the life of former House member Alvin C. Bush (84th District). On February 8, 2017, Mr. Bush passed away at the age of 93 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. First elected to the House of Representatives in 1960, Mr. Bush held leadership positions in the House, Legislative Reference Bureau, Senate Staff and Bill Scranton’s 1964 Presidential Campaign. From 1985 until 1994, he supervised staff toward converting Pennsylvania to an elected Attorney General, establishing the Independent Crime Commission and Statewide grand juries. At the end of his public service career, Mr. Bush directed the Independent Regulatory Review Commission. The epitome of his career was passing the legislation which established the Pennsylvania College of Technology, where he served as Chairman of the Board for ten years. Please join me in honoring the life and achievements of this phenomenal man. Contact my assistant, Chanin Zwing, with any questions at 787-5270 or via e-mail at czwing@pahousegop.com. |
