MEMORANDUM

Subject: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption - Constitutional Amendment

In the near future, I will introduce legislation to extend property tax exemption to Pennsylvania veterans who are 80-100% disabled.

Currently, the Pennsylvania Constitution only provides property tax exemption to veterans who are 100% disabled. My legislation would simply extend this exemption to any veteran who has been designated by the VA as being 80% -100% disabled.

Our veterans deserve our utmost respect and appreciation — especially those whose service has resulted in a permanent disability. It is incumbent upon us to make their lives easier in any way possible, and we, as legislators, should do all we can to honor these brave men and women. Exempting those veterans who are at least 80% disabled from paying property taxes is just one way we can show our gratitude to those who put their lives on the line and sacrificed for our country.

Please join me in cosponsoring this legislation and honor Pennsylvania’s most worthy citizens.
