Subject: | RESOLUTION – HONORING THE LIFE OF CARDINAL WILLIAM H KEELER |
I intend to introduce a resolution honoring the life and achievements of Cardinal William H. Keeler. William H. Keeler originally born in Texas, was raised in Lebanon Pennsylvania and attended Lebanon Catholic High School. He continued his education via St. Mary’s School in Schwenksville, St. Charles Seminary in Philadelphia, and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. On July 17 1955 Father William H. Keeler was ordained to the Catholic priesthood in the Church of the Holy Apostles, Rome, which propelled him forward to his many years of service and dedication in Rome, Pennsylvania and Maryland. Auxiliary Bishop Keeler was ordained for the Diocese of Harrisburg in 1979, appointed the 14th Archbishop of Baltimore in 1989, became President of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops in 1992 to just name a few, and additionally received various appointments by the Vatican during his illustrious career.
