MEMORANDUM

Posted: May 8, 2017 05:59 PM
From: Representative Ryan Warner
To: All House members
Subject: Further Legalizing the Sale and Use of Consumer Fireworks

In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would further legalize the sale and use of consumer fireworks to Pennsylvanians over 18 years old. Currently, consumer fireworks can be sold from brick and mortar facilities to out-of-state customers and Pennsylvania residents who obtain a permit from their local municipality. This legislation would simply remove the permit requirement to give Pennsylvanians the same convenience currently offered to out-of-state customers.

This legislation will also levy an excise tax on all consumer fireworks. These revenues will be directed to fund EMS providers and fire company programs.

I ask for your support in co-sponsoring this legislation.
