Subject: | Gaming License Auction |
The State Harness Racing Commission recently revoked the final Harness Racing License which had previously been issued to Endeka and the Gaming Control Board denied the application for a slot machine license as well. As a result, the State Horse Racing Commission has opened a new application period for the final unissued Standardbred license which application period runs through June 14, 2017. My legislation provides that in the event there is no successful applicant or the Harness Racing License would be issued and revoked again, the corresponding Category 1 slot machine license attached to the unissued Standardbred horse race meeting license shall be converted to a category 2 license. Furthermore, my legislation provides for the auction of any slot machine licenses that become available after December 31, 2017. Minimum bids are: Category 1 and Category 2 - $66.5 million; Category 3 - $12.5 million. I hope you will join me in cosponsoring this initiative. |
