Subject:	Veterans Alternative Punishment Program

On March 15, 2017 I will be reintroducing legislation allowing the transfer of 1,500 inmates with veteran’s service to a voluntary intermediate punishment program. The qualified inmates will build conservation facilities and trails. The transfers will provide eligible veteran inmates a second chance and job skills, with immediate savings to Corrections in the first year.
