Subject: Resolution recognizing March 2017 as “National Social Work Month”.
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution recognizing March 2017 as “National Social Work Month”.

The mission of social workers is to seek to enhance the effective functioning and well-being of individuals, families, and communities through their work and through its advocacy. Over the past six decades, social workers have made a difference in the day-to-day lives of millions of Americans.
I want to recognize our social workers for the skillful and unselfish work they do 365 days a year. These compassionate women and men endeavor to make sure everyone has access to the same basic rights, protections and opportunities. It is for these reasons and more that I am proud to offer this resolution recognizing the important work these professionals provide to our citizens.

I hope you will join me in co-sponsoring this resolution.
