Subject: Marcellus Legacy Fund
 
In the near future I plan to introduce legislation which will allocate 1% of fees collected by the Marcellus Legacy Fund (under title 58 Pa. C.S.A. Oil and Gas, section 2315) for the mitigation of environmental damage caused by pipelines in Commonwealth.

With the advent of more pipelines crossing the Commonwealth, it is much more likely that municipalities surrounding the pipelines would suffer environmental damage as the result of accidents, leaks or as of yet unforeseen problems. This legislation would provide funds to address these issues as they arise.
