Subject: | Constitutional Amendment Property Tax Elimination - Former HB 2146 |
The issue of property tax elimination has been discussed and debated in the Legislature for more than 40 years, yet Pennsylvania families are still burdened with the most onerous, anti-American tax on our books. As a result, I am planning to re-introduce legislation (prior HB 2146) to amend the Pennsylvania Constitution to eliminate property taxation. As of July 1, 2018, my bill will prohibit the Commonwealth, any county, city or school district from levying, assessing, or collecting any tax on real property. As with all amendments to the Constitution, this language must be passed by the General Assembly in two consecutive legislative session. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. |
