Subject: | Co-sponsorship: AOG Compensation for Collection Efforts |
In the near future I plan to re-introduce legislation (HB776 of 2015) that will allow the Office of Attorney General (OAG) to receive compensation for their efforts to collect debts of the Commonwealth. The current laws do not allow for compensation by the OAG, but do allow private collection agencies utilized by the OAG to charge the debtor for collection efforts. This legislation will allow the OAG to charge a small nominal fee to cover the costs incurred during their debt collection efforts. Currently, the costs incurred by the OAG for their debt collection efforts are not billed to the debtor, but paid by the taxpayer. If you have any questions, or need any additional information, please call Margaret Tricarico at 717-772-5568; Democratic Extension 6168 or email: mtricarico@pahouse.net. Previous co-sponsors: |
