Subject: | "Rare Disease Day" in Pennsylvania |
In the near future, we plan to introduce a House Resolution to designate March 14, 2017 as “Rare Disease Day” in Pennsylvania. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), nearly 30 million Americans have rare diseases. A disease is considered rare if it affects fewer than 200,000 Americans. There are nearly 7,000 such diseases according to NIH. They tend to be serious and/or lifelong, and approximately two-thirds of those affected are children. We invite you to join us in cosponsoring this resolution. Thank you! |
