MEMORANDUM

Subject: Reciprocal Agreement Between States for Hunting & Fishing for Military Personnel

In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would amend Titles 30 (Fish & Boat code) and 34 (Game and Wildlife Code) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, authorizing the Pennsylvania Attorney General to enter into reciprocal agreements with others states allowing active duty military fishing and hunting licenses issued by the Commonwealth and each state in agreement to be recognized as resident licenses in any state participating in such an agreement.

I believe this legislation will encourage other states to enter into such agreements, and the cost savings to our valued active duty military hunters and anglers would allow for more travel and increased opportunity for military personnel. It may also help to attract more travel to the Commonwealth from non-resident military sportsmen, resulting in a boost to our economy through the spending of additional sportsmen’s dollars here.

I hope you will join me in sponsoring this proposal.
