Subject: | Legislation Providing for the Dating Service Consumer Bill of Rights |
In the near future, I will be reintroducing legislation – former HB 2217 - providing for social referral service protections and for internet dating safety in legislation known as the Dating Service Consumer Bill of Rights. In short, my legislation will set restrictions for dating service contracts and require internet dating services to provide safety notifications to its users. There are dating services in the Commonwealth that particularly prey on intellectually disabled individuals and it is our job to protect those constituents who fall prey to these companies. I hope you will all join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation. In doing so, we will provide an important protection for those who are preyed upon by services that take advantage of our most at risk citizens. Previous Cosponsors: KINSEY AND MURT |
