Subject: Department of Aging - PENNCARE
 
Please join me as a cosponsor of legislation to maximize the benefit of funds for the PENNCARE program, which is a State Lottery-funded program to provide home and community-based services to older Pennsylvanians. My legislation would enact a prohibition on using the PENNCARE's appropriated funds for the Department of Aging's administrative costs.

This language has been re-enacted with each budget on an annual basis for at least the last 20 years, and my legislation would codify this policy on a permanent basis.

By ensuring that all of the money appropriated for this program goes to the recipients, rather than for departmental administrative costs, we can maximize the benefits provided by the PENNCARE program.
