Subject: Resolution -Commending Judge Luis Felipe Restrepo confirmation to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals
 
In the near future, I will introduce a resolution commending Judge Luis Felipe “Phil” Restrepo on his recent confirmation to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. I ask you to join me in this commendation.

Judge Restrepo is a highly-respected jurist, most recently from the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is a leader in the Hispanic community, an advocate for adequate legal representation for the poor, and a beloved member of the community. And with this confirmation, he becomes the second Hispanic to be appointed to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the first from Pennsylvania.

This confirmation is long-awaited, coming only after months of delay. Please join me in congratulating Judge Restrepo, and welcoming a truly excellent judge to the federal appellate bench in Pennsylvania.
