MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 27, 2016 02:47 PM
From: Representative Marty Flynn
To: All House members
Subject: Legislation to Prohibit Legislators from Serving as Municipal Solicitors

In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation amending Title 65 (Public Officers) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes that would prohibit Members of the General Assembly from serving as a municipal solicitor during their term of office.

This legislation would ensure no "government on government" solicitors and foster greater accountability by eliminating potential conflicts of interest between a legislator's role serving an entire district and a legislator's role serving a particular city, township or borough.

Thank you in advance for your consideration in co-sponsoring this legislation.

Introduced as HB2062
