Subject: Appeal of Adoption Subsidy
 
Dear colleague,

I soon will introduce legislation to allow parents who adopt a child or children to appeal to the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services the amount of an adoption subsidy provided by local authorities.

This legislation is being reintroduced from last session (former HB 736) and is part of a package of legislation that is being reintroduced to reform Pennsylvania’s adoption laws and improve the adoption process.

My legislation amends the Public Welfare Code by adding a subsection under Section 774 (Adoption Opportunity Payments and Reimbursement).
