MEMORANDUM

Posted: July 22, 2015 03:12 PM
From: Representative Tarah Toohil
To: All House members
Subject: City Revitalization and Improvement Zones (CRIZ) Expanding the Category of Third Class Cities from 30,000 to 25,000 Residents

Please join me in co-sponsoring legislation to authorize additional third class cities to participate in the City Revitalization and Improvement Zones (CRIZ) program. This program was created in 2013 to provide third class cities with additional tools to spur economic development and job creation.

However, the eligibility for the third class cities to apply for the CRIZ program is limited to those greater than 30,000 residents. This legislation would expand that category of eligibility to third class cities with the population greater than 25,000.

This legislation does not dictate which third class cities receive CRIZ designation; it simply expands the category of third class cities, which are eligible to apply for the program.

Again, please consider joining me in co-sponsoring this important legislation.
