|Subject:||Authorizing Monthly Bingo at Casinos|
| In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that will amend Title 4 (Amusements) to allow casinos to conduct one 24-hour bingo marathon per month.
Currently, some New York casinos hold bingo nights, which is popular amongst certain players. This legislation will provide PA casinos with a new entertainment option for patrons and generate more revenue for the Commonwealth. Casinos desiring to conduct bingo would be required to comply with regulations promulgated by the PA Gaming Control Board, and revenue would be taxed at 14%. Additionally, by limiting their ability to conduct bingo to one 24-hour period a month, I do not believe casino bingo would cannibalize the charitable revenues raised by non-profits who hold a bingo license.
I hope you will consider joining me in cosponsoring this legislation that will both increase the competitiveness of PA casinos and provide a new entertainment option for the Commonwealth’s casino patrons.
