Subject: Providing seasonal registration for antique, classic and collectible vehicles
 
In the near future, I intend to reintroduce legislation that would permit owners and lessees of antique, classic or collectible vehicles to apply for seasonal registration.

Under current law, only the owner or lessee of a passenger car, motor home, motorcycle, truck or farm vehicle with a gross weight of not more than 14,000 pounds may register their vehicle for less than a full year with the Department of Transportation. Antique, classic and collectible vehicles do not qualify for seasonal registration.

My proposal would provide owners and lessees of antique, classic and collectible vehicles, who cannot or do not wish to operate their vehicle for a portion of the year, with the opportunity to do so.
