| Subject: | Resolution Recognizing March 11, 2015 as “Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day” in Pennsylvania |
| In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution recognizing March 11, 2015, as “Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day” in Pennsylvania. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the world’s largest organization of more than 73,000 food and nutrition professionals, will be recognizing March 11, 2015, as national “Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day.” The purpose of this observance is to increase awareness of registered dietitian nutritionists as advocates for advancing the nutritional status of Americans and people around the world. Registered dietitian nutritionists are indispensable providers of food and nutrition services who are committed to improving the health of their patients and their communities. To correspond with this important event, my resolution recognizes March 11, 2015, as “Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day” in Pennsylvania. This resolution commemorates the dedication of the more than 3,700 residents of this Commonwealth who are members of the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and any other registered dietitian nutritionists who advocate for the promotion of optimal nutrition, health and well-being in their local communities. I hope you will join me in co-sponsoring and supporting this resolution. |
