MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 3, 2014 11:29 AM
From: Representative Brad Roae
To: All House members
Subject: Eliminating Saturday and Sunday Per Diems

In January, I will introduce legislation that would ban per diems from being collected on Saturdays and Sundays unless they fall on a Session day, the day before a Session day or the day after a Session day.

Arriving in Harrisburg on a Sunday for Session on Monday would still qualify for a per diem. If legislators happen to be in Session until late on Friday, staying over and leaving on Saturday would still qualify for a per diem. Additionally, Saturdays and Sundays which are scheduled Session days would still qualify for per diems.

I would greatly appreciate your support of this legislation. Thank you very much for your consideration.

Introduced as HB226
