Subject: | PLCB Notification Requirement of Liquor License Applications |
In the very near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would amend the Liquor Code for the purpose of establishing a general power and duty of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB). Specifically, my proposal would require the PLCB to notify state and local elected officials of new or altered liquor license applications within his or her district. State and local elected officials include, but are not limited to, state representatives, state senators, county commissioners, and city councilmen. The PLCB must send a notification in writing, via a certified letter, no later than 15 days after they receive an application. In an ever-changing world, I believe it is important for state and local elected officials to be apprised of modifications throughout his or her region, particularly as it relates to liquor licensed establishments. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation. |
