Subject: Bridge Designation - SFC Scott R. Smith Memorial Bridge
 
In the near future, I will be introducing legislation to designate the bridge on State Route 119 over the Mahoning Creek in Punxsutawney Borough, Jefferson County as the SFC Scott R. Smith Memorial Bridge. Sgt. Smith was killed in Iraq on July 17, 2006, while trying to defuse an improvised explosive device, when a secondary IED exploded.
