Subject: | Mobile Barbershop Legislation Package - Barber and Cosemtology Licenses |
In the near future I plan to introduce a legislative package (companion bills) that will allow a barber or cosmetologist to practice in a mobile setting. Many constituents in my area - and I suspect many other areas around the state -- are unable to travel to a salon or barber shop. This legislation would allow service to occur within a home, a senior center, a local recreational center, etc. It would also allow for “make-over” parties or planned gatherings to include this type of service. Allowing a barber or cosmetologist to operate through a mobile setting as well as a traditional setting provides an opportunity for expansion of their business and customer base. In addition, my legislation will ensure sanitation and the maintenance of a traditional cosmetology salon or barber shop as well. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation package. |
