Subject: | Co-sponsorship: Confidentiality of Lottery Winners |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would amend Act 91 of 1971, known as the State Lottery Law. The bill would amend the Lottery Act to allow a lottery winner to choose whether or not he or she wants to disclose their name or other personal information in a multistate lottery game. The city and county of residence of a prize winner would not be considered confidential information. My bill would protect lottery winners from criminals and scam artists that prey on big jackpot lottery winners. It is my belief that lottery winners from Pennsylvania should have the option whether or not he or she wants to disclose their name or stay anonymous. If you share this belief, I hope you join me in cosponsoring this legislation. |
