Subject: Prohibition on the use of handheld electronic devices within a construction zone
 
In the near future, I plan to reintroduce legislation (HB 2543) amending Title 75 (Vehicles) section 3326, making the use of a handheld electronic device within an active construction zone a summary offense.

We all know how hazardous distracted driving can be, but the activity is even more egregious within a construction zone when highway workers are present. I'm introducing this legislation in order to provide another layer of protection for these workers.
