MEMORANDUM

To: All House members
Subject: Prohibit Drivers from Operating a Motor Vehicle while Holding an Animal (Former HB 1384)

In the near future, I intend to reintroduce legislation that would amend Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to prohibit drivers from operating a motor vehicle while holding an animal.

Drivers have entirely too many distractions. Aside from having respect for animals, I have an even greater respect for the general public’s safety. Therefore, my proposal would prohibit drivers from operating a motor vehicle while holding an animal, which I believe will help eliminate additional distractions.
